SEAL BEACH : 9 Enter Race for 3 Seats on Council

Nine people have filed to run for three City Council seats in the March 27 election.
Running for the District 1 seat are Orange County planner Charles Antos, 44; firefighter/paramedic James Cook, 37; property management specialist Marilyn Bruce Hastings, 61; businessman Douglas Hoxing, 35; and contractor Joe Rullo, 54.
District 1, which encompasses the downtown area and Surfside, is being vacated by Mayor Victor Grgas, who has represented the district for eight years.
In District 3, contenders include controller Galen Ambrose, 49; Planning Commissioner Gwen Forsythe, 35; and insurance executive Dennis K. Pollman, 44. District 3, which covers what is known locally as the hill area and part of Leisure World, is being vacated by Joyce Risner, who served two terms on the council.
Incumbent Joe Hunt, 62, will run unopposed in District 5, which includes most of Leisure World.
