A 7-year-old Oceanside girl missing since mid-December was seen in a grocery in Mobile, Ala., the first confirmed sighting of her since Jan. 1, Oceanside police said Tuesday.
Leticia Hernandez was seen Friday holding the hand of a woman being sought in the kidnaping. The pair were seen shopping in a mall near the intersection of Interstate 10 and Alabama 55, police said. A male suspect was seen outside the store.
Leticia was wearing a plaid skirt and was “apparently in good health,” police said.
The previous confirmed sighting placed Leticia at a rest stop on I-10 between Columbus and Sealy, Tex., police said.
It was the seventh confirmed sighting of the child, who disappeared Dec. 16 while playing outside her apartment.
