NAMES IN THE NEWS : Billy Carter Memoirs Due Out
- Share via
The memoirs of the late Billy Carter, the beer-drinking good ol’ brother of former President Jimmy Carter, will be published this month.
The book, “Billy: Billy Carter’s Reflections On His Struggle With Fame, Alcoholism and Cancer,” was written by Carter, his wife, Sybil, and Ken Estes, director of communications for the National Assn. of Addiction Treatment Providers.
Carter was once so closely associated with drinking that he had a brand of beer named for him, but he went into treatment and was sober for the last nine year of his life.
