Malathion Controversy

Does anyone remember what a political bomb it was for Jerry Brown when he tried to stop the malathion spraying? I wonder if any of those being sprayed who are complaining were guilty of having calling him “Governor Moonbeam”? Jerry Brown’s ideas were just ahead of their time--or is it that the general public is just a little slow?
