Historical Society Begins Fund Drive

A $2-million fund-raising drive by the Pasadena Historical Society to build the Pasadena History Center began last week with a reception at the 85-year-old Fenyes Mansion, whose basement houses the society’s museum.
Kenneth Patton, the group’s president, said $1.1 million in cash and pledges has already been received, including a $225,000 challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
A new building that would include a museum, library and administrative offices is to be constructed on the grounds of the historical society, at Walnut and Orange Grove boulevards.
