Honeywell to Close Gardena Plant: The company said it will relocate its Gardena operations to San Diego, resulting in the loss of more than 300 jobs. The Minneapolis-based firm currently employs about 500 people in Gardena. Virg McCormick, director of Honeywell’s West Coast operations, said a planned reorganization will significantly reduce space requirements, making it impractical to remain in Gardena. “San Diego is the ideal choice for relocation because it is close to our assembly operations in Mexico,” he said.
