Police Shootings in Los Angeles

It appears that a lot of people, including me, believe that LAPD’s SIS unit operates as a death squad. There is nothing in the law that gives police the authority to lie in wait for a crime to be committed and then to proceed to execute the suspects, bypassing all of the usual procedures that lead to conviction or exoneration in the courts of law. A grand jury investigation of this secret police unit is definitely in order.
I am a retired Los Angeles County deputy probation officer. I am quite familiar with some of the criminal behavior of police officers. A former LAPD officer admitted to me that he committed at least 100 burglaries. Incredible as it may seem, he received straight probation. I did not recommend execution for these 100 or so burglaries, only state prison.
