Pasadena : Trash Fees Increase Today
Beginning today, trash pickup rates will increase by $1.50 monthly per household to cover the costs of the city’s recycling program. The increase will yield $434,508 a year to be paid to Browning-Ferris Industries, Circo Recycler and Murcole Inc., which are under contract to launch a citywide recycling program starting Monday.
Homeowners will not see the increase until they receive their May bills. Basic back-yard pickup service will go up from $18.78 to $20.28, curbside automated service will increase from $12.76 to $14.26, and Lifeline service, for poor and elderly residents, will rise from $9.39 to $10.89.
