Guard Jeff Bregel of the San Francisco 49ers was arrested early Saturday and charged with being drunk in public, according to San Jose police.
“He was standing on a corner with his shirt off and was challenging someone to a fight,” police spokesman Mitch Fagan said.
Bregel, 25, was the 49ers’ second-round draft pick out of USC in 1987.
