Matthews Studio Buys TV Equipment Company

Matthews Studio Equipment Group, a Burbank company that makes and rents film production gear, said it has completed the acquisition of Innovative Television Equipment of Canoga Park for about $1.2 million. Innovative designs and manufactures equipment for television production and has annual sales of about $4 million, according to Matthews co-chairman Carlos De Mattos.

Separately, Matthews said, its subsidiary, Hollywood Rental Co., agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets at the Burbank facility of Lee America West, a film production equipment company. Terms were not disclosed.
