Hallmark Cards has extended for another week, until 12:01 a.m. March 14, its offer to buy back $270 million in junk bonds, at about 40 cents on the dollar, to rescue its financially troubled Univision Spanish-language television network . . . Outboard Marine Corp., manufacturer of Johnson and Evinrude outboard engines, said it will temporarily lay off 3,100 workers because of lagging boat sales . . . Mitsubishi Corp. and a management group at Pittsburgh-based Aristech Chemical Corp. have completed an $859-million acquisition by buying nearly all the chemical maker’s shares . . . The Investment Company Institute reported that the assets of the nation’s 499 money market mutual funds rose $2 billion to $390.79 billion in the week ended March 7.
