About 2,500 customers were left without electrical power today when a truck struck a wire supporting a utility pole in Laguna Beach at 8:31 a.m., according to Southern California Edison Co.
Power was out in a 3-mile stretch from Pacific Coast Highway and Broadway to South Laguna Beach near Aliso Creek, according to Jim Sumrow, manager for Southern California Edison in Irvine and Laguna Beach.
Most of the customers were without power for 48 minutes, he said. Fifteen homes in the Skyline Drive and Vista Lane area were still without power about noon, but power was expected to be restored in the early afternoon, Sumrow said.
