Flight Aborted Twice; 16 Made Ill by Fumes

ORLANDO, Fla. — Fumes from a leaking hydraulic system sickened 16 passengers on an American Airlines jet, which was forced to return twice to Orlando International Airport, the airline said Monday.
No one on the first flight was injured, but at least 16 people on the second flight were made slightly ill by the fumes, which leaked from a left-side hydraulic system Sunday on the McDonnell Douglas Super 80, an airline spokesman said.
