Diamond Bar : Water Conservation Urged

The City Council on Tuesday adopted a resolution asking residents to cut down on water usage by 10% to help offset a prolonged statewide drought.
But the measure is only voluntary, at a time when some Southland water officials are urging counties and cities to adopt mandatory water conservation plans.
The resolution lists ways to conserve, including not hosing down sidewalks and driveways, installing low-flow devices in toilets, adjusting sprinklers to avoid runoff, avoiding watering during the hot part of the day or during peak hours, shutting off fountains and repairing leaky faucets.
