COUNTYWIDE : Agency on Aging Seeks Applications
- Share via
The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging is seeking applications from senior citizens interested in serving on the agency’s advisory council.
The council meets monthly to discuss senior citizen issues, review grant applications and make recommendations to the agency and the county Board of Supervisors.
The county agency oversees the distribution of about $1 million in state and federal money each year.
Programs supported by such funds include senior centers, day-care homes, nutrition education and transportation.
Advisory council members need not be seniors, although state law requires the majority of the members to be over the age of 60.
Six new members will be appointed to the council on July 1.
