Annie Grows Up Too Fast: Don’t say “you’re never too old” to 12-year-old Danielle Findley. The Kansas City, Kan., schoolgirl was cast in the Broadway-bound musical, “Annie 2” after a nationwide search. The show was such a bomb during its Washington tryout that the producers decided not to take it to Broadway. Now the creators have decided to revive “Annie 2,” but without Danielle. Director-lyricist Martin Charnin said the youngster “just grew up too fast.” The new Annie is 10-year-old Lauren Gaffney, who is now appearing with Debby Boone in the New York production of “The Sound of Music.”
