Rock for AIDS: Rock stars and record-industry leaders have announced plans for a multimedia benefit for AIDS research in Great Britain starring U2, David Byrne, Billy Idol and Fine Young Cannibals. Organizers said the benefit, to be called “Red, Hot and Blue,” will heighten awareness of AIDS through music and education. The performers will do versions of Cole Porter songs in the 90-minute show, which will be broadcast on television and made into a video. “Red, Hot and Blue” will be broadcast Dec. 1 on ABC in the United States.
