California IN BRIEF : SAN FRANCISCO : Police Commander Killed in Crash

Police Cmdr. Isaiah Nelson was killed shortly after midnight Saturday when his motorcycle crashed on Interstate 280 near 25th Street. Nelson, 40, was returning from the Giants game at Candlestick Park, where he was in charge of security. A police report said Nelson’s bike crashed into a concrete barrier on the freeway. There was no immediate report on why the crash happened.
