Merle Norman Cosmetics Suit: Merle Norman Cosmetics Inc. sued a former employee in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, asking that Jessie Louise Victa be ordered to drop her state court lawsuit alleging age discrimination. The suit said that in April, 1989, Los Angeles-based Merle Norman ended a similar federal action by agreeing not to practice age discrimination. Victa’s pending state court case duplicates the settled federal action, the suit said. Victa could not be reached for comment. (Filed April 10, 1990. Case No. 90-1794)
