Capistrano Valley Swimmer Chooses Arizona

Christy Carolin of Capistrano Valley High School will sign a letter of intent to swim for Arizona, her father, Greg Carolin, said Saturday.
Carolin has won the 50-yard freestyle at the Southern Section 4-A meet three consecutive years and is favored to win the event this season. She also won the 100-yard free at the 4-A meet in 1988.
At Saturday’s Foothill High School Swim Games, Carolin won the 50 free and 100 free after setting meet records in both at Thursday’s prelims. She was named girls’ swimmer of the meet.
Carolin had visited UCLA, USC, Ohio State and Colorado State.
