$11,075 was raised for the Orange County Interfaith Shelter for the homeless Saturday night during a benefit at the Righteous Brothers’ Hop in Fountain Valley, a Hop spokeswoman said Monday. Righteous Brother Bill Medley presided over the combination concert and auction, which drew about 320 people. The most successful auction item, which sold for $2,000, was a platinum album Medley received for the hit song (“I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from the movie “Dirty Dancing.” Two jackets donated by Medley sold for a total of $825. The shelter, in Costa Mesa, provides stop-gap housing for homeless families.
