San Gabriel : Council Selects New Mayor

In the City Council’s post-election reorganization, James Castaneda has replaced John Tapp as mayor and Sabino Cici has taken over as vice mayor. First elected to the council in 1988, Castaneda, 32, is a self-employed construction engineer.
A five-term councilman, Cici, 50, owns and operates his own locksmith business in San Gabriel. He won reelection to the council April 10. Castaneda and Cici are scheduled to assume the new positions for nine months and two weeks.
