PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Relph’s Homer Helps Tustin Win League Championship

Top-ranked Tustin High School scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and one in the eighth to defeat Estancia, 5-4, and clinch the Sea View League title Wednesday.
Estancia led, 4-2, but Ryan Relph’s two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh tied the game.
In the eighth, Tustin’s Jim Reider walked and was sacrificed to second. After an intentional walk, a passed ball and another intentional walk, the bases were loaded. Shawn Green’s groundball to shortstop scored pinch-runner Zack Echols with the winning run.
In another Sea View League game:
Corona del Mar 12, University 7--Greg Prough had three-run double in the first inning and John Murphy had two-run double in the sixth for visiting Corona del Mar (9-13, 4-8). Each Sea King starter had at least one hit.
In the Angelus League:
Mater Dei 11, Bishop Montgomery 3--Jim Betzsold hit a solo home run in the third inning, Dave Gonzalez had two hits and one RBI and Doug DeJardin hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to lead host Mater Dei (16-6, 8-3). St. Paul 3, Servite 2 (eight innings)--Ed Robledo, who went three for four, singled in the winning run in the eighth inning.
In the Garden Grove League:
La Quinta 8, Bolsa Grande 0--Brett Osborn (7-3) had a no-hitter until Bill Kercher led off the sixth inning with a single. Osborn allowed one more hit before being relieved by Jason Cherms in seventh inning. La Quinta (17-7, 9-2) took advantage of four errors and six walks.
Pacifica 19, Garden Grove 0--Host Pacifica had 18 hits to back Robert Toth (7-4), who allowed just one hit and had seven strikeouts five innings. Rancho Alamitos 4, Los Amigos 1--Brian Osterode (3-7) pitched a five-hitter and struck out eight. Osterode also had two hits and the game winning RBI.
Santiago 4, Kennedy 1--Adrian Borbon had a two-run double in the fourth inning for visiting Santiago (14-7, 8-3).
In the South Coast League:
Capistrano Valley 2, Dana Hills 1-- Jonathan Petke hit home runs to lead host Capistrano Valley (14-7-1, 7-4-1). Mike Robertson homered for Dana Hills. El Toro 19, San Clemente 6--Chris Sauritch hit a three-run home run and Bo Haley hit a two-run home run to lead visiting El Toro (17-6, 9-3).
