Mad About Animals: Pop singer Belinda Carlisle says she has withdrawn from a $35,000 contract to perform July 23 at Cheyenne, Wyo. Frontier Days because she objects to the treatment of rodeo animals. “Watching people roughly rope terrified calves is not my idea of entertainment,” Carlisle said in a statement released by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, a group for which she serves as a spokeswoman.
