BARCELONA, Spain — Soviet political reformer Boris Yeltsin is recovering well from an operation for a slipped disc and should be able to go home this weekend , a hospital spokesman said.
Yeltsin “has raised himself from bed without help and taken small steps around his room,” according to his latest medical report.
Doctors operated on Yeltsin after he suffered sharp back pains just before he was to participate in a debate at a Barcelona television station Monday. He was operated on that day.
