TENNIS ROUNDUP : Rain Temporarily Saves Agassi

Andre Agassi was just two games from elimination from the German Open Thursday when rain suspended play at Hamburg.
When play resumes today in the third-round match, the second-seeded Agassi will be trailing Magnus Gustafsson of Sweden, 7-6 (7-2), 4-4.
Top-seeded Boris Becker of West Germany advanced with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Andrei Cherkasov of the Soviet Union, third-seeded Aaron Krickstein was upset by Henri Leconte of France, 6-4, 6-4, and Guy Forget of France knocked off fourth-seeded Emilio Sanchez of Spain, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
Helen Kelesi of Canada upset third-seeded Arantxa Sanchez Vicario of Spain, 6-4, 7-5, in the third round of the Italian Open at Rome.
Top-seeded Martina Navratilova also reached the quarterfinals by beating Sandra Cecchini of Italy, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3; fourth-seeded Gabriela Sabatini of Argentina eliminated Regina Rajchrtova, 6-0, 6-1, and 14-year-old Jennifer Capriati got past Laura Golarsa of Italy, 6-3, 6-7 (10-8), 6-2.
