Auction Helps Foxx Out of Tax Hole: Eight car enthusiasts paid a total of $49,555 at a Las Vegas auction for eight vehicles formerly owned by Redd Foxx to help pay the nearly $3 million the Internal Revenue Service claims Foxx owes in back taxes. A custom-made 1983 Zimmer Opera Coupe, purchased by an unidentified buyer, brought the high bid of $16,500. Jewelry owned by Foxx--including a gold watch given to him 13 years ago by Elvis Presely--will be auctioned next month.
