A Soviet athlete who competed in the Los Angeles Marathon on March 4 has tested positive for steroid use and will be suspended from competition in the United States for two years, The Athletics Congress announced.
Sirje Eichelmann, who finished second in the women’s division of the marathon, tested positive for Nandrolone metabolites, a substanced banned by International Amateur Athletic Federation and the International Olympic Committee.
