Four teen-agers were wounded Sunday in an apparently gang-related shoot-out in Southeast San Diego, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of J Street near Grant Heights Park after about a dozen shots were heard coming from an area near the park at 12:17 a.m., said Sgt. Jacob Hughes, a Police Department spokesman.
Three of the victims, whose names were not released, were taken to nearby Physicians & Surgeons Hospital, he said.
A 15-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. An 18-year-old was shot once in an arm and once in his right leg. A third youth was shot twice in a foot.
The victim with the arm and leg wounds was in stable condition Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said. The other two were treated and released.
At 2:30 a.m., a fourth victim, a 15-year-old boy, went to Paradise Valley Hospital for treatment of a “through and through” gunshot wound to the back. He was treated and released, a spokesman said.
The Police Department’s gang detail was investigating.
