A construction worker was shot to death Friday in the yard of a Rowland Heights home, allegedly by a man who was upset because the victim would not give him a ride, sheriff’s deputies said.
The victim, a 23-year-old City of Industry man, was shot once in the head as he worked in the side yard of the home in the 17900 block of Sunrise Drive. He was not identified pending notification of his family.
Other construction workers witnessed the shooting, said Sgt. Joaquin Herran of the sheriff’s Information Bureau. Authorities believe the suspect, whose identity was not determined, had argued with the victim about a ride on Thursday. The suspect drove away after the shooting and had not been found, Herran said.
