Manuel L. Quezon, president of the Commonwealth government (late 1930s), said: “I’d rather have this country run like hell by Filipinos than run like heaven by Americans.”
Before anyone snickers at that, let’s just write Chamorro or Bhutto in place of Aquino. And Nicaragua or Pakistan in place of the Philippines.
