ODD BEDFELLOWS: Its backers believe Northern California liberals favor Proposition 119, the measure shifting redistricting power to an independent commission, but Southern California Republicans oppose it. . . . So who comes to the liberals’ rescue? Ronald Reagan, that’s who, in radio ads sponsored by the very-Republican Lincoln Club of Orange County. “Orange County is the main target,” said the ad’s producer, political consultant Ron Smith. Although Reagan has favored such reform for decades, “it has always lost in Orange County,” Smith says.
