Chrysler, Renault End Joint Venture: Chrysler Corp. and French auto maker Renault scrapped their joint venture to build a new mini-jeep, but Chrysler said it may continue the project on its own. The car makers said their Arcad SA venture, valued at $440 million, was no longer economically attractive. The venture to build a new sport utility vehicle, code-named JJ, was announced 18 months ago. It was to compete with vehicles made by Japan’s Suzuki and a joint venture between Ford Motor Co. and Nissan.
