Vandalism and Hate Crimes

Thank you very much for the article with regard to the vandalism to St. Francis of Assisi Church. I am a member of that parish and in my opinion it was a very fair and thorough description of the events that have occurred.
I want to thank you also for emphasising that as a church we have never done anything to provoke this violence. This type of vandalism to our church is a shocking experience for our Catholic community, and it really demands a public outcry.
Your description of the vandalism to St. Francis of Assisi Church as a hate crime because it seems to be a direct response to the stand of the Catholic Church on moral issues is indeed appreciated.
I most sincerely hope that this article will call attention to the necessity for more police protection and vigilance at St. Francis.
