Burbank Raises Fees for Trash, Utility Services
- Share via
Burbank residents will pay more for sewer service, trash pickup and utilities beginning July 1, because of rate hikes approved by the City Council to cover increased costs of services.
Residential rates for trash pickup will increase from $8.03 to $10.04 per month. City officials said the increase was needed to fund programs that dispose of bulky items and household hazardous waste.
Sewer service charges at a single-family house will increase by $1.49 per month to $11.43. Much of the increase is due to increased charges at the Hyperion sewage treatment plant, city officials said.
Water rates will increase 4% during fiscal year 1990-91, which begins July 1, and 11% the following year. Electric rates will increase 4% during 1990-91 and 5% the following year.
