A man hit a clerk at Stop N’ Go Market with either a sawed-off shotgun or a metal pipe Friday morning, fleeing with an unknown amount of money from the store’s cash register, authorities said.
John Niebuhr, the clerk, was treated for a scalp wound at Community Memorial Hospital of San Buenaventura and released, said Officer Rick French of the Ventura Police Department.
The man entered the store at Bell Way and Ventura Avenue about 2 a.m. and fled before police arrived, French said.
An investigation is continuing.
