Texas Instruments Sues Five U.S. Chip Makers: The Dallas electronics giant filed a patent infringement lawsuit and an International Trade Commission complaint against the semiconductor makers over their alleged use of a TI patented process, known as plastic encapsulation, for manufacturing electronic components. TI filed the lawsuit in a Dallas federal court against Analog Devices Inc. of Norwood, Mass., and California firms Cypress Semiconductor of San Jose, Integrated Device Technology Inc. of Santa Clara, LSI Logic Corp. of Milpitas and VSLI Technology of San Jose.
