A 17-year-old Ventura girl and former member of a white supremacist gang was hit on the head with a shovel by another gang member Thursday night, police said.
Gang members were apparently angry with the teen-ager’s decision to leave the group, said Officer Sandy Butler of the Ventura Police Department. The girl was admitted to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of head injuries.
When police arrived at the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue about 8 p.m. Thursday, gang members fled the area. The officers found several clubs and white-power graffiti scrawled on sidewalks and a fence, Butler said.
