Placing the Blame for the Condition of Rock ‘n’ Roll

Rather than mourning rock’s passing, we should take pride in the way it revitalized jazz, of which rock was simply the latest manifestation.
Whether the first dominant musical genre of the Post-Industrial Era is rap, rai or reggae, it will be a form of jazz. People may be wearing Hungarian shoes, driving Brazilian cars and loading Korean computers with Indian software, but jazz will be the spirit of America’s music that guides their hearts.
