WORLD : Dream Cabin in Nightmare Spot

OSLO — A Norwegian man felled trees, hauled lumber and built a road up a mountain in a race to finish his dream cabin in time for summer vacation.
He got it done at the right time, but in the wrong place.
The Oslo newspaper Verdens Gang reported today that the man, who was not identified, missed his own land by 330 feet and built his cabin on a neighboring forest lot.
“I was astounded,” Hallvard Oerjasaeter told the newspaper after he discovered the cabin on his land. “I thought maybe I had the map turned upside down, but no, it was my forest.”
Oerjasaeter said the builder apologized profusely but “that doesn’t help much. I didn’t want a cabin on my property.”
Verdens Gang said the cabin, near the central Norway town of Oeyer, will remain empty until the builder moves it or persuades Oerjasaeter to sell him the land.
