Bill Could Increase Pollution in West, Study Finds: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a report saying that unless an amendment to protect national parks is added to the Senate version of the proposed clean air bill, as has been done in the House, sulfur-dioxide emissions from power plants would increase by 130,000 tons per year. Lawmakers are meeting to resolve differences between the two versions of the bill.
