POMONA — James Dobson, 54,the host of a national daily radio program on family matters and religious issues, was recuperating Tuesday after suffering a mild heart attack, a spokesman said.
Dobson, host of the program “Focus on the Family” and founder of the Pomona-based Christian media empire by the same name, was at an undisclosed Pasadena hospital for medical tests and was expected to remain there until the end of the week, said Paul Hetrick, vice president of the nonprofit organization.
Hetrick said doctors had not found any damage to Dobson’s heart.
“They are running some more tests, but all indications are positive,” he said.
Dobson’s program--a half-hour taped interview in which he and his guests address family-related issues in a religious context--was expected to continue airing without interruptions while Dobson recovers, Hetrick said. The radio program is heard on 1,450 stations.
