SAN DIEGO — Jimmy McGeough, the player judged the fastest skater in the International Hockey League, was added to the roster of the San Diego Gulls, General Manager Don Waddell announced Tuesday.
McGeough, a right wing who also plays center, scored 33 goals in 77 games last year with the Phoenix Roadrunners. He had 46 assists for 81 total points.
McGeough, a constant breakaway threat, had three three-goal games and the only four-goal game recorded by the Roadrunners. He is the sixth player acquired by the Gulls, an IHL expansion team.
Waddell said he expects “around 30” players when training camp begins Sept. 18.
