Three men were injured in a weekend attack when they were jumped by gang members in a Santa Monica beach parking lot, authorities said.
Between 10 and 15 gang members, wielding knives, clubs and metal pipes, attacked the youths as they were drinking in the lot at 1100 Pacific Coast Highway at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, said Santa Monica Police Sgt. John Miehle.
One man was stabbed eight times, another’s skull was fractured by a metal pipe and the third man suffered a major cut to the scalp, Miehle said.
Police are searching for the assailants, all between the ages of 16 and 18, who were driving two late-model pickup trucks, one blue and the other white.
