Investors Expert Merger: Shares of International Lease Finance Corp. jumped $4.25 to close at $29.25 in trading, reflecting increased investor confidence that the firm’s merger with American International Group Inc. will be consummated Friday.
Terms of the merger give shareholders the option of a $332.50-per-share cash buyout or a cash and stock swap. AIG share prices have firmed in recent days, apparently improving investor confidence about complex financial arrangements in the deal. The two firms disclosed Monday that 19.8 million of ILFC’s 34 million outstanding shares have been “elected” for the stock option.
