Foothill Thrift Verdict: A Superior Court jury awarded $564,000 to a defunct video surveillance firm that had alleged that Foothill Thrift & Loan in Los Angeles improperly cut off its line of credit and liquidated the firm when it was losing money in 1985. Plaintiffs in the case, which included some Videoscope shareholders, had originally sought $25 million. Foothill attorney Howard P. Miller said the thrift believes it acted properly.
