K mart Settles Import Quota Dispute: The Troy, Mich.-based company has agreed to pay $6 million in import duties and penalties to settle a dispute with the Customs Service over textile import quotas. Customs had alleged that K mart and a subsidiary, K mart-Taiwan, manipulated prices of textiles imported from Taiwan and South Korea between 1982 and 1985 to evade quotas.
