Number of Oil, Gas Drilling Rigs Up 27: The rise in the number of working oil and gas rigs in the United States, boosted the total to 1,039 this week--an indication that the domestic Oil Patch finally is feeling the effects of the Middle East crisis, Baker Hughes Inc. reported. A year ago this week, the count totaled 950.
