Matthews Expects to See Tripling of Earnings

Matthews Studio Equipment Group in Burbank said it expects to report that its earnings tripled and revenues rose by more than 50% in the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, compared to fiscal 1989.

For the year that ended Sept. 30, 1989, Matthews earned $138,000 on $14.7 million in revenues.

Matthews, which makes and rents film and television production equipment, said the expected improvement in its financial results is due to the growth of its rental business.
