MGM/UA Shareholders Approve Merger: MGM/UA Communications Co. shareholders have approved an Oct. 23 merger with Pathe Communications Corp. The vote, which came during a meeting in Beverly Hills, was a formality since majority stockholder Kirk Kerkorian has already given the deal his blessing.
